Psalms 63

The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.

A Psalm of David,
1 Sam 22:5; 23:14
when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, b  You are my God; I shall seek You
Lit early
My soul d  thirsts for You, my flesh
Lit faints
yearns for You,
In a f  dry and weary land where there is no water.
2Thus I have g  seen You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
3Because Your h  lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips will praise You.
4So I will bless You i  as long as I live;
I will j  lift up my hands in Your name.
5My soul is k  satisfied as with
Lit fat
marrow and fatness,
And my mouth offers m  praises with joyful lips.

6When I remember You n  on my bed,
I meditate on You in the o  night watches,
7For p  You have been my help,
And in the q  shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
8My soul r  clings
Lit after
to You;
Your t  right hand upholds me.

9But those who u  seek my
Lit soul
life to destroy it,
Will go into the
Lit lowest places
x  depths of the earth.
Lit They will pour him out
They will be
Lit poured out by
aa  delivered over to the power of the sword;
They will be a
Lit portion
ac  prey for foxes.
11But the ad  king will rejoice in God;
Everyone who ae  swears by Him will glory,
For the af  mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
