Psalms 66

Praise for God’s Mighty Deeds and for His Answer to Prayer.

For the choir director. A Song. A Psalm.

1 a  Shout joyfully to God, all the earth;
2Sing the b  glory of His name;
Make His c  praise glorious.
3Say to God, “How d  awesome are Your works!
Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will
Lit deceive
,
f  give feigned obedience to You.
4 g  All the earth will worship You,
And will h  sing praises to You;
They will sing praises to Your name.”
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.

5 j  Come and see the works of God,
Who is k  awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men.
6He l  turned the sea into dry land;
They passed through m  the river on foot;
There let us n  rejoice in Him!
7He o  rules by His might forever;
His p  eyes keep watch on the nations;
Let not the rebellious q  exalt themselves. Selah.

8Bless our God, O peoples,
And
Lit cause to hear the sound of His praise
,
s  sound His praise abroad,
9Who
Lit puts our soul in life
,
u  keeps us in life
And v  does not allow our feet to
Or dodder, stumble
slip.
10For You have x  tried us, O God;
You have y  refined us as silver is refined.
11You z  brought us into the net;
You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins.
12You made men aa  ride over our heads;
We went through ab  fire and through water,
Yet You ac  brought us out into a place of abundance.
13I shall ad  come into Your house with burnt offerings;
I shall ae  pay You my vows,
14Which my lips uttered
And my mouth spoke when I was af  in distress.
15I shall ag  offer to You burnt offerings of fat beasts,
With the smoke of ah  rams;
I shall make an offering of
Or cattle
bulls with male goats. Selah.

16 aj  Come and hear, all who
Or revere
fear God,
And I will al  tell of what He has done for my soul.
17I cried to Him with my mouth,
And
Or praise was under my tongue
He was an  extolled with my tongue.
18If I
Or had regarded
,
ap  regard wickedness in my heart,
The aq  Lord
Or would
will not
Or have heard
hear;
19But certainly at  God has heard;
He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.
20 au  Blessed be God,
Who av  has not turned away my prayer
Nor His lovingkindness from me.
