Psalms 77

Comfort in Trouble from Recalling God’s Mighty Deeds.

For the choir director;
1 Chr 16:41
according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.

1 My voice rises to God, and I will b  cry aloud;
My voice rises to God, and He will hear me.
2In the c  day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
d  In the night my e  hand was stretched out
Lit and did not grow numb
without weariness;
My soul g  refused to be comforted.
3 When I remember God, then I am h  disturbed;
When I i  sigh, then j  my spirit grows faint.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
4You have held my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I l  cannot speak.
5I have considered the m  days of old,
The years of long ago.
6I will remember my n  song in the night;
I o  will meditate with my heart,
And my spirit
Lit searched

7Will the Lord q  reject forever?
And will He r  never be favorable again?
8Has His s  lovingkindness ceased forever?
Has His
Lit word
u  promise come to an end
Lit from generation to generation
9Has God w  forgotten to be gracious,
Or has He in anger
Lit shut up
withdrawn His y  compassion? Selah.
10Then I said z  “It is my
Or infirmity, the years of the right hand of the Most High
That the ab  right hand of the Most High has changed.”

11I shall remember the ac  deeds of
Heb  Yah
the  Lord;
Surely I will ae  remember Your wonders of old.
12I will af  meditate on all Your work
And muse on Your deeds.
13Your way, O God, is ag  holy;
ah  What god is great like our God?
14You are the ai  God who works wonders;
You have aj  made known Your strength among the peoples.
15You have by Your
Lit arm
power al  redeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and am  Joseph. Selah.

16The an  waters saw You, O God;
The waters saw You, they were in anguish;
The deeps also trembled.
17The ao  clouds poured out water;
The skies ap  gave forth a sound;
Your aq  arrows
Lit went
flashed here and there.
18The as  sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind;
The at  lightnings lit up the world;
The au  earth trembled and shook.
19Your av  way was in the sea
And Your paths in the mighty waters,
And Your footprints may not be known.
20You aw  led Your people like a flock
By the hand of ax  Moses and Aaron.
