Psalms 85

Prayer for God’s Mercy upon the Nation.

For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

O  Lord, You showed a favor to Your land;
Or restore the fortunes
c restored the captivity of Jacob.
You d forgave the iniquity of Your people;
You e covered all their sin.
Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
You g withdrew all Your fury;
You h turned away from Your burning anger.

i Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And j cause Your indignation toward us to cease.
Will k You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to
Lit generation and generation
all generations?
Will You not Yourself
Or bring to life
n revive us again,
That Your people may o rejoice in You?
Show us Your lovingkindness, O  Lord,
And p grant us Your salvation.

Or Let me hear
I will hear what God the  Lord will say;
For He will r speak peace to His people
Lit even to
to His godly ones;
But let them not t turn back to
Or stupidity
Surely v His salvation is near to those who
Or reverence
fear Him,
That x glory may dwell in our land.
10  y Lovingkindness and
Or faithfulness
truth have met together;
aa Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Or Faithfulness
Truth ac springs from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 Indeed ad the  Lord will give what is good,
And our ae land will yield its produce.
13  af Righteousness will go before Him
And will make His footsteps into a way.
