Psalms 97

The  Lord’s Power and Dominion.

1 a  The  Lord
Or has assumed Kingship
reigns, let the c  earth rejoice;
Let the many
Or coastlands
e  islands be glad.
2 f  Clouds and thick darkness surround Him;
g  Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 h  Fire goes before Him
And i  burns up His adversaries round about.
4His j  lightnings lit up the world;
The earth saw and k  trembled.
5The mountains l  melted like wax at the presence of the  Lord,
At the presence of the m  Lord of the whole earth.
6The n  heavens declare His righteousness,
And o  all the peoples have seen His glory.

7Let all those be ashamed who serve p  graven images,
Who boast themselves of q  idols;
Or All the gods have worshiped Him
s  Worship Him, all you
Or supernatural powers
Or possibly hears and is glad
heard this and v  was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O  Lord.
9For You are the  Lord w  Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far x  above all
Or supernatural powers

10 z  Hate evil, you who love the  Lord,
Who aa  preserves the souls of His godly ones;
He ab  delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 ac  Light is sown like seed for the righteous
And ad  gladness for the upright in heart.
12Be ae  glad in the  Lord, you righteous ones,
And af  give thanks
Lit for the memory of His holiness
to His holy name.
