Message to Sardis

1To the angel of the church in a  Sardis write:

He who has b  the seven Spirits of God and c  the seven stars, says this: ‘ d  I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive

but you are f  dead.
2Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. 3So g  remember
Lit how
what you have received and heard; and keep it, and i  repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, j  I will come k  like a thief, and you will not know at l  what hour I will come to you.
4But you have a few

n  people in o  Sardis who have not p  soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me q  in white, for they are worthy.
5r  He who overcomes will thus be clothed in s  white garments; and I will not t  erase his name from the book of life, and u  I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 6v  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Message to Philadelphia

7And to the angel of the church in w  Philadelphia write:

x  He who is holy y  who is true, who has z  the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

8aa  I know your

deeds. Behold, I have put before you ac  an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and ad  have not denied My name.

11at  I am coming quickly; au  hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your av  crown. 12aw  He who overcomes, I will make him a ax  pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the ay  name of My God, and az  the name of the city of My God, ba  the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My bb  new name. 13bc  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

14To the angel of the church in bd  Laodicea write:

15bi  I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; bj  I wish that you were cold or hot. 16So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will

17Because you say, bl  I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18I advise you to bm  buy from Me bn  gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and bo  white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that bp  the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19bq  Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and br  repent. 20Behold, I stand bs  at the door and bt  knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, bu  I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21bv  He who overcomes, I will grant to him bw  to sit down with Me on My throne, as bx  I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22by  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
