Revelation of John 4

Scene in Heaven

1After a  these things I looked, and behold b  a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard c  like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said d  Come up here, and I will e  show you what must take place after these things.” 2Immediately I was
Or in spirit
,
g  in the Spirit; and behold h  a throne was standing in heaven, and i  One sitting on the throne.
3And He who was sitting was like a j  jasper stone and a k  sardius in appearance; and there was a
Or halo
,
m  rainbow around the throne, like an n  emerald in appearance.
4 o  Around the throne were p  twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw q  twenty-four elders r  sitting, clothed in s  white garments, and t  golden crowns on their heads.

The Throne and Worship of the Creator

5Out from the throne come u  flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were v  seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are w  the seven Spirits of God; 6and before the throne there was something like a x  sea of glass, like crystal; and in the
Lit middle of the throne and around
center and z  around the throne aa  four living creatures ab  full of eyes in front and behind.
7 ac  The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. 8And the ad  four living creatures, each one of them having ae  six wings, are af  full of eyes around and within; and ag  day and night
Lit they have no rest, saying,
they do not cease to say, ai  Holy, holy, holy is the aj  Lord God, the Almighty, ak  who was and who is and who
Or is coming
is to come.”
9And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who am  sits on the throne, to an  Him who lives forever and ever, 10the ao  twenty-four elders will ap  fall down before Him who aq  sits on the throne, and will worship ar  Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their as  crowns before the throne, saying, 11 at  Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You au  created all things, and because of Your will they
Lit were
existed, and were created.”
