Romans 12

Dedicated Service

Therefore a I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to b present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice
Or well-pleasing
acceptable to God, which is your
Or rational
spiritual service of worship.
And do not e be conformed to f this
Or age
world, but be transformed by the h renewing of your mind, so that you may
Or approve
j prove what the will of God is, that which is good and
Or well-pleasing
acceptable and perfect.

For through l the grace given to me I say to everyone among you m not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to n each a measure of faith. For o just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, p who are many, are q one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that r differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if s prophecy
Or in agreement with the faith
according to the proportion of his faith;
Or office of service
v service, in his serving; or he who w teaches, in his teaching;
or he who x exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with
Or simplicity
z liberality; aa he who
Or gives aid
leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with ac cheerfulness.

Let ad love be without hypocrisy. ae Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be af devoted to one another in brotherly love;
Or outdo one another in showing honor
give preference to one another ah in honor;
11 not lagging behind in diligence ai fervent in spirit aj serving the Lord; 12  ak rejoicing in hope al persevering in tribulation am devoted to prayer, 13  an contributing to the needs of the
Or holy ones
Lit pursuing
aq practicing hospitality.

14  ar Bless those who persecute
Two early mss do not contain you
you; bless and do not curse.
15  at Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16  au Be of the same mind toward one another; av do not be haughty in mind, but
Or accommodate yourself to lowly things
associate with the lowly. ax Do not be wise in your own estimation.
17  ay Never pay back evil for evil to anyone.
Lit Take thought for
ba Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18 If possible bb so far as it depends on you, bc be at peace with all men. 19  bd Never take your own revenge, beloved, but
Lit give a place
leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written bf Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
20  bg But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
