Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet.

synagogue,
Jairus by
name,
and seeing him, he
fell at his feet

While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. ‘Your daughter is dead,’ they said. ‘Why bother the teacher anymore?’

still speaking, there
came from the
ruler’s house some who
said, “
Your daughter is
dead.
Why trouble the
Teacher any
further?”

Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house

And there
came a
man named Jairus,
who was a
ruler of the
synagogue.
And falling at Jesus’
feet, he
implored him to
come to his house,
(NIV)
While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. ‘Your daughter is dead,’ he said. ‘Don’t bother the teacher anymore.’

he was
still speaking,
someone from the
ruler’s house came and
said, “
Your daughter is
dead;
do not
trouble the
Teacher any
more.”

Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus
, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.’
(ESV)
But Jesus on
hearing this
answered him,
“Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”
(NIV)
When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother.
(ESV)
And when he
came to the
house, he
allowed no one to
enter with him,
except Peter and John and James,
and the
father and mother of the
child.
