(NIV)
For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the
Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.
(ESV)
For Ezra had
set his
heart to
study the
Law of the
Lord, and to
do it and to
teach his
statutes and
rules in
Israel.
(NIV)

(ESV)
On the
second day the
heads of
fathers’ houses of
all the
people, with the
priests and the
Levites, came
together to
Ezra the
scribe in order to
study the
words of the
Law.
(NIV)
I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!
(ESV)
And I
applied my
heart to
seek and to
search out by
wisdom all that is
done under heaven. It is an
unhappy business that
God has
given to the
children of
man to be
busy with.
(NIV)

Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
(ESV)
My
son,
beware of
anything beyond these. Of
making many books there is
no end, and
much study is a
weariness of the
flesh.
(NIV)

(ESV)
