1 Timothy 2

Therefore I urge, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all who are in authority; that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who desires all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time. And for this I have been appointed a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ and am not lying;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Therefore, I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension. In like manner also, let women adorn themselves in proper apparel, modestly and soberly; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly attire; 10 But with good works, as becomes women professing godliness. 11 Let a woman learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not allow a woman to teach, or to have authority over a man; she must keep silent. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve; 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15 Yet women shall be kept safe through childbirth, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with propriety.
