1 Chronicles 15:16-29

16David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on amusical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy. 17So the Levites appointed bHeman the son of Joel; and of his brothers cAsaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their brothers, dEthan the son of Kushaiah; 18and with them their brothers of the second order, Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel. 19The singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were to sound bronze cymbals; 20Zechariah, eAziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah were to play harps according to fAlamoth; 21but Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, gObed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to lead with lyres according to hthe Sheminith. 22Chenaniah, leader of the Levites in music, should direct the music, for he understood it. 23Berechiah and Elkanah were to be gatekeepers for the ark. 24Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, should iblow the trumpets before the ark of God. jObed-edom and Jehiah were to be gatekeepers for the ark.

25 kSo David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of lObed-edom with rejoicing. 26And because God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed mseven bulls and seven rams. 27David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as also were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the music of the singers. And David wore a linen ephod. 28So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, to the sound of the horn, ntrumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on oharps and lyres.

29And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

The Lamb and the 144,000

1Then I looked, and behold, on aeMount Zion afstood the Lamb, and with him ag144,000 who ahhad his name and his Father’s name written aion their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven ajlike the roar of many waters and aklike the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of alharpists playing on their harps, 3and they were singing ama new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. anNo one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
