1 Chronicles 16:39-40

39 And he left ^aZadok the priest and his brothers the priests before the tabernacle of the Lord ^bin the high place that was at Gibeon 40 to offer burnt offerings to the Lord ^con the altar of burnt offering ^dregularly morning and evening, to do all that is written in the Law of the Lord that he commanded Israel.

David Organizes the Priests

1 The divisions of the sons of Aaron were these. The sons of ^eAaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 2 ^fBut Nadab and Abihu died before their father and had no children, so Eleazar and Ithamar became the priests. 3 With the help of ^gZadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, David organized them according to the appointed duties in their service.
