Treasurers and Other Officials

20And of the Levites, Ahijah had charge of athe treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the dedicated gifts.

2 Chronicles 31:11-19

11Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare bchambers in the house of the Lord, and they prepared them. 12And they faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes, and the dedicated things. The chief officer cin charge of them was Conaniah the Levite, with dShimei his brother as second, 13 ewhile Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, fMahath, and Benaiah were overseers assisting Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king and gAzariah the chief officer of the house of God. 14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the east gate, was over the freewill offerings to God, to apportion the contribution reserved for the Lord and the most holy offerings. 15 hEden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah were faithfully assisting him in ithe cities of the priests, to distribute the portions to their brothers, old and young alike, by divisions, 16except those enrolled by genealogy, males from three years old and upwardall who entered the house of the Lord jas the duty of each day required—for their service according to their offices, by their divisions. 17The enrollment of the priests was according to their fathershouses; that of the Levites kfrom twenty years old and upward was according to their offices, by their divisions. 18They were enrolled with all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, the whole assembly, for they were faithful in keeping themselves holy. 19And for the sons of Aaron, the priests, who were in the fields of common land belonging to their cities, there were men in the several cities who were ldesignated by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone among the Levites who was enrolled.

Nehemiah 10:38

38And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive the tithes. And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of mthe storehouse.

Nehemiah 12:44

Service at the Temple

44 nOn that day men were appointed over the storerooms, the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the Law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.

Nehemiah 12:47

47And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the odaily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; pand they set apart that which was for the Levites; qand the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.

Nehemiah 13:5

5prepared for Tobiah a large chamber where they had previously put the grain offering, the frankincense, the vessels, and the tithes of grain, wine, and oil, rwhich were given by commandment to the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, and the contributions for the priests.

Nehemiah 13:10-13

10I also found out that sthe portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled each tto his field. 11 uSo I confronted the officials and said, vWhy is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations. 12Then all Judah brought wthe tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses. 13And xI appointed as treasurers over the storehouses Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah of the Levites, and as their assistant Hanan the son of Zaccur, son of Mattaniah, yfor they were considered reliable, and their duty was to distribute to their brothers.
