1 Chronicles 29:12-14

12 aBoth riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. bIn your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. 13And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.

14“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.

2 Chronicles 2:5-6

5The house that I am to build will be great, cfor our God is greater than all gods. 6 dBut who is able to build him a house, since eheaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him?

Isaiah 10:8-15

8for he says:
f“Are not my commanders all kings?
9 gIs not hCalno like iCarchemish?
Is not jHamath like kArpad?
lIs not mSamaria like Damascus?
10As my hand has reached to nthe kingdoms of the idols,
whose carved images were greater than those of Jerusalem and Samaria,
11shall I not do to Jerusalem and oher idols
pas I have done to Samaria and her images?”
12 qWhen the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, rhe
Hebrew I
will punish the speech of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the boastful look in his eyes.
13 tFor he says:

“By the strength of my hand I have done it,
and by my wisdom, for I have understanding;
I remove the boundaries of peoples,
and plunder their treasures;
like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones.
14My hand has found like a nest
the wealth of the peoples;
and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken,
so I have gathered all the earth;
and there was none that moved a wing
or opened the mouth or chirped.”
15 Shall uthe axe boast over him who hews with it,
or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it?
As if a rod should wield him who lifts it,
or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!

Isaiah 37:24-25

24By your servants you have mocked the Lord,
and you have said, vWith my many chariots
I have gone up the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon,
wto cut down its tallest cedars,
its choicest cypresses,
to come to its remotest height,
its most fruitful forest.
25I dug wells
and drank waters,
to dry up with the sole of my foot
all xthe streams yof Egypt.

in the heart of the seas,’
yet adyou are but a man, and no god,
aethough you make your heart like the heart of a god
3 afyou are indeed wiser agthan ahDaniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4by your wisdom and your understanding
aiyou have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and ajyour heart has become proud in your wealth
