1 Chronicles 6:31-32

31These are the men awhom David put in charge of the service of song in the house of the Lord bafter the ark rested there. 32They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they performed their service according to their order.

1 Chronicles 15:16-21

16David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on cmusical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy. 17So the Levites appointed dHeman the son of Joel; and of his brothers eAsaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their brothers, fEthan the son of Kushaiah; 18and with them their brothers of the second order, Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel. 19The singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were to sound bronze cymbals; 20Zechariah, gAziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah were to play harps according to hAlamoth; 21but Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, iObed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to lead with lyres according to jthe Sheminith.

1 Chronicles 16:4-6

4Then he appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the Lord, to invoke, to thank, and to praise the Lord, the God of Israel. 5 kAsaph was the chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals, 6and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.

1 Chronicles 16:41-42

41With them were lHeman and Jeduthun mand the rest of those chosen and nexpressly named to give thanks to the Lord, ofor his steadfast love endures forever. 42Heman and Jeduthun had trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments pfor sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate.

Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king. 7The number of them along with their brothers, who were trained in singing to the Lord, all who were skillful, was aa288.

2 Chronicles 29:25

25 abAnd he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, acaccording to the commandment of David and of Gad adthe king’s seer and of aeNathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets.
