Spiritual Gifts

1Now aconcerning
The expression  Now concerning introduces a reply to a question in the Corinthians’ letter; see 7:1
spiritual gifts,
Or  spiritual persons
brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
I do not want you to be uninformed.
2You know that ewhen you were pagans fyou were led astray to gmute idols, however you were led. 3Therefore I want you to understand that hno one speaking in the Spirit of God ever saysJesus is iaccursed!” and jno one can sayJesus is Lordexcept in the Holy Spirit.

4Now kthere are varieties of gifts, but lthe same Spirit; 5and mthere are varieties of service, but nthe same Lord; 6and there are varieties of activities, but it is othe same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 pTo each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of qwisdom, and to another the utterance of rknowledge according to the same Spirit, 9to another sfaith by the same Spirit, to another tgifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10to another uthe working of miracles, to another vprophecy, to another wthe ability to distinguish between spirits, to another xvarious kinds of tongues, to another ythe interpretation of tongues. 11All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, zwho apportions to each one individually aaas he wills.

One Body with Many Members
