1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Forgive the Sinner
5Now hif anyone has caused pain, ihe has caused it not to me, but jin some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. 6For such a one, kthis punishment by the majority is enough, 7so lyou should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. 9For this is why I wrote, that I might mtest you and know nwhether you are obedient in everything. 10Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, 11so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for owe are not ignorant of his designs.2 Corinthians 7:9-11
9As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but pbecause you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.10For qgodly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas rworldly grief produces death. 11For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, swhat zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.
