1 Corinthians 9:24-27

24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives athe prize? So brun that you may obtain it. 25Every cathlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we dan imperishable. 26So I do not run aimlessly; I edo not box as one fbeating the air. 27But I discipline my body and gkeep it under control,
Greek  I pummel my body and make it a slave
lest after preaching to others iI myself should be jdisqualified.

Straining Toward the Goal

12Not that I have already uobtained this or vam already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: wforgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for xthe prize of the upward ycall of God in Christ Jesus.
