1 Corinthians 9:4

4 aDo we not have the right to eat and drink?

1 Corinthians 9:6

6Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?

1 Corinthians 9:12-18

12If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more?

Nevertheless, bwe have not made use of this right, but we endure anything crather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.
13Do you not know that dthose who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings? 14In the same way, the Lord commanded that ethose who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.

15But fI have made no use of any of these rights, nor am I writing these things to secure any such provision. For I would rather die than have anyone gdeprive me of my ground for boasting. 16For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For hnecessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! 17For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still entrusted with ia stewardship. 18What then is my reward? That in my preaching jI may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

2 Corinthians 10:1-2

Paul Defends His Ministry

1 kI, Paul, myself entreat you, by the lmeekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!— 2I beg of you mthat when I am present I may not have to show nboldness with such confidence as I count on showing against some who suspect us of walking according to the flesh.

2 Corinthians 10:10-11

10For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but ohis bodily presence is weak, and phis speech of no account.” 11Let such a person understand that what we say by letter when absent, we do when present.

2 Corinthians 13:10

10For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come qI may not have to be rsevere in my use of sthe authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.

1 Thessalonians 2:9

9For you remember, brothers, tour labor and toil: we uworked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.
