1 John 2:10

10Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him
Or it
there is no bcause for stumbling.

1 John 3:10-23

10By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, cnor is the one who ddoes not love his brother.

Love One Another

11For ethis is the message that you have heard from the beginning, fthat we should love one another. 12We should not be like gCain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? hBecause his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. 13Do not be surprised, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 14, 16
jthat the world hates you.
14We know that kwe have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15 lEveryone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that mno murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

16By this we know love, that nhe laid down his life for us, and owe ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17But pif anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet qcloses his heart against him, rhow does God’s love abide in him? 18Little children, let us not slove in word or talk but in deed and tin truth.

19By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 21Beloved, uif our heart does not condemn us, vwe have confidence before God; 22and wwhatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and xdo what pleases him. 23And this is his commandment, ythat we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and zlove one another, aajust as he has commanded us.

1 John 4:20-21

20 abIf anyone says, “I love God,” and achates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot
Some manuscripts how can he
love God aewhom he has not seen.
21And afthis commandment we have from him: agwhoever loves God must also love his brother.

1 John 5:1

Overcoming the World
