Or that
fthe darkness is passing away and gthe true light is already shining.
9Whoever says he is in the light and hhates his brother is still in darkness. 10Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him
Or it
there is no jcause for stumbling.

1 John 3:11-18

Love One Another

11For kthis is the message that you have heard from the beginning, lthat we should love one another. 12We should not be like mCain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? nBecause his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. 13Do not be surprised, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 14, 16
pthat the world hates you.
14We know that qwe have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15 rEveryone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that sno murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

16By this we know love, that the laid down his life for us, and uwe ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17But vif anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet wcloses his heart against him, xhow does God’s love abide in him? 18Little children, let us not ylove in word or talk but in deed and zin truth.

1 John 3:23

23And this is his commandment, aathat we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and ablove one another, acjust as he has commanded us.

1 John 4:21

21And adthis commandment we have from him: aewhoever loves God must also love his brother.
