1 John 4:16-19

16 So ^awe have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. ^bGod is love, and ^cwhoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this ^dis love perfected with us, so that ^ewe may have confidence for the day of judgment, because ^fas he is so also are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but ^gperfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not ^hbeen perfected in love. 19 ⁱWe love because he first loved us.

1 John 5:3-4

3 For ^jthis is the love of God, that we ^kkeep his commandments. And ^lhis commandments are not burdensome. 4 For ^meveryone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— ⁿour faith.
