50 And Adonijah feared Solomon. So he arose and went ^aand took hold of ^bthe horns of the altar. 51 Then it was told Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’” 52 And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, ^cnot one of his hairs shall fall to the earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.”

1 Kings 2:21-24

21 She said, “Let ^dAbishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as his wife.” 22 King Solomon answered his mother, “And why do you ask ^eAbishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, ^ffor he is my older brother, and on his side ^gare Abiathar ^{▼▼Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate; Hebrew and for him and for Abiathar} the priest and Joab the son of Zeruiah.” 23 Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, ⁱ“God do so to me and more also if this word does not cost Adonijah his life! 24 Now therefore ^jas the Lord lives, who has established me and placed me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, ^kas he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today.”

Jeremiah 44:16-17

16 “As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, ^mwe will not listen to you. 17 ⁿBut we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to ^othe queen of heaven ^pand pour out drink offerings to her, ^qas we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.

Acts 5:8-9

8 And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you ^{▼▼The Greek for you is plural here} sold the land for so much.” And she said, “Yes, for so much.” 9 But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together ^sto test ^tthe Spirit of the Lord?
