1 Kings 11:11-13

11Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, aI will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant. 12Yet for the sake of David your father I will not do it in your days, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13However, bI will not tear away all the kingdom, but cI will give one tribe to your son, for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem dthat I have chosen.”

Psalms 17:14

14from men by your hand, O Lord,
from emen of the world whose fportion is in this life.
Or  from men whose portion in life is of the world

You fill their womb with treasure;
Or As for your treasured ones, you fill their womb

they are satisfied with ichildren,
and they leave their abundance to their infants.

Psalms 39:6

6Surely a man jgoes about as a shadow!
Surely for nothing
Hebrew  Surely as a breath
they are in turmoil;
man lheaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!

Psalms 49:10

10 For he sees mthat even the wise die;
nthe fool and the stupid alike must perish
and oleave their wealth to others.

Ecclesiastes 2:26

26For to the one who pleases him pGod has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given qthe business of gathering and collecting, ronly to give to one who pleases God. sThis also is vanity and a striving after wind.

13 tThere is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt, 14and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.
