1 Kings 11:36

36Yet to his son aI will give one tribe, that David my servant may always have ba lamp before me in Jerusalem, cthe city where I have chosen to put my name.

Psalms 89:30-34

30 dIf his children forsake my law
and do not walk according to my rules,
Or  my just decrees

31if they violate my statutes
and do not keep my commandments,
32then I will punish their transgression with fthe rod
and their iniquity with stripes,
33but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
or be false to my faithfulness.
34I will not violate my gcovenant
or alter the word that went forth from my lips.

Isaiah 7:14

14Therefore the hLord himself will give you a sign. iBehold, the jvirgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name kImmanuel.
 Immanuel means God is with us

Isaiah 9:7

7Of the increase of his government and of peace
mthere will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
nwith justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
oThe zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

The Righteous Reign of the Branch

1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of pJesse,
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2And qthe Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
rHe shall not judge by swhat his eyes see,
or decide disputes by twhat his ears hear,
4but uwith righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall vstrike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and wwith the breath of his lips xhe shall kill the wicked.
5Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and yfaithfulness the belt of his loins.
6 zThe wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together;
and a little child shall lead them.
7The cow and the bear shall graze;
their young shall lie down together;
and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra,
and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder’s den.
9 aaThey shall not hurt or destroy
in all abmy holy mountain;
acfor the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
10In that day adthe root of aeJesse, who shall stand as afa signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

Jeremiah 23:5-6

5 agBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous ahBranch, and aihe shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6In his days Judah will be saved, and ajIsrael will akdwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: al‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Lamentations 3:31-32
