18And he said to him, “I also am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Bring him back with you into your house that he may eat bread and drink water.’” But he lied to him.

1 Kings 22:22-24

22And the Lord said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be aa lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’ 23Now therefore behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; the Lord has declared disaster for you.”

24Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near band struck Micaiah on the cheek and said, “How did the Spirit of the Lord go from me to speak to you?”

Isaiah 28:17

17And I will make justice cthe line,
and righteousness dthe plumb line;
and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
and waters will overwhelm the shelter.”

Isaiah 29:10

10 eFor the Lord has poured out upon you
a spirit of deep sleep,
and has closed your eyes (the prophets),
and covered your heads (the seers).

Jeremiah 5:31

31 fthe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
gmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 14:14-15

14And the Lord said to me: “The hprophets are prophesying lies in my name. iI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, jworthless divination, and kthe deceit of their own minds. 15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although lI did not send them, and who say, mSword and famine shall not come upon this land’: nBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.
