Prophecy Against Jeroboam

1At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick. 2And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Arise, and disguise yourself, that it not be known that you are the wife of Jeroboam, and go to aShiloh. Behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, bwho said of me that I should be king over this people. 3 cTake with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what shall happen to the child.”

4Jeroboam’s wife did so. She arose and went to dShiloh and came to the house of eAhijah. Now fAhijah could not see, for his eyes were dim because of his age.

2 Kings 1:2

2Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria, and lay sick; so he sent messengers, telling them, “Go, inquire of gBaal-zebub, the god of Ekron, hwhether I shall recover from this sickness.”

2 Kings 1:6

6And they said to him, “There came a man to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go back to the king who sent you, and say to him, Thus says the Lord, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of iBaal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”

2 Kings 3:11-13

11 jAnd Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered, kElisha the son of Shaphat is here, lwho poured water on the hands of Elijah.” 12And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

13And Elisha said to the king of Israel, mWhat have I to do with you? Go to nthe prophets of your father and to othe prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No; it is pthe Lord who has called these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab.”
