1 Kings 16:29-33

Ahab Reigns in Israel

29In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years. 30And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, amore than all who were before him. 31And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, bhe took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the cSidonians, dand went and served Baal and worshiped him. 32He erected an altar for Baal in ethe house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. 33And Ahab made an fAsherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger gthan all the kings of Israel who were before him.

1 Kings 18:18-19

18And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you have, and your father’s house, because you have habandoned the commandments of the Lord and ifollowed the Baals. 19Now therefore send and gather all Israel to me at Mount jCarmel, and the k450 prophets of Baal and lthe 400 prophets of Asherah, mwho eat at Jezebel’s table.”

2 Kings 17:16-18

16And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of ntwo calves; and they omade an Asherah and pworshiped all the host of heaven and served qBaal. 17 rAnd they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings
Or made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire
and used tdivination and uomens and vsold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.
18Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but wthe tribe of Judah only.

Hosea 11:2

2 xThe more they were called,
the more they went away;
ythey kept sacrificing to the Baals
and burning offerings to idols.
