Jeremiah 26:8-11

8And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then cthe priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, “You shall die! 9Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be dlike Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, ewithout inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

10When fthe officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king’s house to the house of the Lord and took their seat in the gentry of the New Gate of the house of the Lord. 11Then hthe priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, iThis man deserves the sentence of death, because he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears.”

Jeremiah 37:13-15

13When he was at jthe Benjamin Gate, a sentry there named Irijah the son of kShelemiah, son of Hananiah, seized Jeremiah the prophet, saying, l“You are deserting to the Chaldeans.” 14And Jeremiah said, “It is a lie; I am not deserting to the Chaldeans.” But Irijah would not listen to him, and seized Jeremiah and brought him to mthe officials. 15And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him nand imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison.

Jeremiah 38:4

4Then the officials said to the king, oLet this man be put to death, pfor he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking qthe welfare of this people, but their harm.”

Luke 23:2

2And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man rmisleading our nation and sforbidding us to give tribute to tCaesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, ua king.”

28saying, v“We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you wintend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

5For we have found this man a plague, xone who stirs up riots among all the Jews throughout the world and is a ringleader of ythe sect of the Nazarenes.
