2So Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.

2 Kings 6:28-29

28And the king asked her, “What is your trouble?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ 29 aSo we boiled my son and ate him. And on the next day I said to her, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him.’ But she has hidden her son.”

2 Kings 7:4

4If we say, ‘Let us enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also. So now come, let us go over to the camp of the Syrians. If they spare our lives we shall live, and if they kill us we shall but die.”

2 Kings 25:3

3On the ninth day of the fourth month bthe famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

Jeremiah 14:13-15

Lying Prophets

13Then I said: “Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets csay to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’” 14And the Lord said to me: “The dprophets are prophesying lies in my name. eI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, fworthless divination, and gthe deceit of their own minds. 15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although hI did not send them, and who say, iSword and famine shall not come upon this land’: jBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.

Jeremiah 14:18

18 kIf I go out into the field,
behold, those pierced by the sword!
lAnd if I enter the city,
behold, the diseases of famine!
mFor both prophet and priest ply their trade through the land
and have no knowledge.’”

Jeremiah 32:24

24Behold, nthe siege mounds have come up to the city to take it, and obecause of sword and famine and pestilence pthe city is given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What you spoke has come to pass, and behold, you see it.

Jeremiah 52:6
