Elijah Flees Jezebel

1Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how ahe had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, bSo may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.” 3Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to cBeersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

1 Kings 19:10

10He said, “I have been very djealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, ethrown down your altars, and fkilled your prophets with the sword, gand I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

1 Kings 19:14

14He said, h“I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, ithrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

Jeremiah 2:30

30In vain have I jstruck your children;
they took no correction;
kyour own sword devoured your prophets
like a ravening lion.

Jeremiah 26:21-23

21And when lKing Jehoiakim, with all his warriors and all the officials, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death. But when Uriah heard of it, he was afraid and fled and escaped to Egypt. 22Then mKing Jehoiakim sent to Egypt certain men, nElnathan the son of oAchbor and others with him, 23and they took Uriah from Egypt and brought him to King Jehoiakim, pwho struck him down with the sword and dumped his dead body into the burial place of the common people.

Matthew 23:34-37

34 qTherefore rI send you sprophets and wise men and tscribes, usome of whom you will kill and crucify, and vsome you will wflog in your synagogues and xpersecute from town to town, 35so that on you may come all ythe righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous zAbel to the blood of aaZechariah the son of Barachiah,
Some manuscripts omit  the son of Barachiah
whom you murdered between acthe sanctuary and adthe altar.
36Truly, I say to you, aeall these things will come upon this generation.

Matthew 26:47-50

Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

47 amWhile he was still speaking, anJudas came, one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the elders of the people. 48Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man; seize him.” 49And he came up to Jesus at once and said, “Greetings, aoRabbi!” And he kissed him. 50Jesus said to him, apFriend, aqdo what you came to do.”
Or  Friend, why are you here?
Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and seized him.
