1 Kings 19:10

10 He said, “I have been very ^ajealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, ^bthrown down your altars, and ^ckilled your prophets with the sword, ^dand I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

1 Chronicles 15:27-29

27 David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as also were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the music of the singers. And David wore a linen ephod. 28 So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, to the sound of the horn, ^etrumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on ^fharps and lyres.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

15 ^hAnd they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of ⁱthe money-changers and the seats of those who sold ^jpigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ^k‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But ^lyou have made it a den of robbers.”

John 2:14-17

14 ^mIn the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make ⁿmy Father’s house a house of trade.” 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, ^o“Zeal for your house will consume me.”
