Solomon’s Reign Established

13 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, ^a“Do you come peacefully?” He said, “Peacefully.”

2 Kings 9:22

22 And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace can there be, so long as ^bthe whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

1 Chronicles 12:17-18

17 David went out to meet them and said to them, “If you have come to me in friendship to help me, my heart will be joined to you; but if to betray me to my adversaries, although there is no wrong in my hands, then may the God of our fathers see and rebuke you.” 18 Then ^cthe Spirit clothed ^dAmasai, chief of the thirty, and he said,

“We are yours, O David,
and with you, O son of Jesse!

and peace to your helpers!
For your God helps you.”
Then David received them and made them officers of his troops.
