1 Kings 2:3-4

3 and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, ^athat you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, 4 that the Lord may ^bestablish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, ^c‘If your sons pay close attention to their way, ^dto walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, ^eyou shall not lack ^{▼▼Hebrew there shall not be cut off for you} a man on the throne of Israel.’

1 Chronicles 22:12-13

12 ^gOnly, may the Lord grant you discretion and understanding, that when he gives you charge over Israel you may keep the law of the Lord your God. 13 ^hThen you will prosper if you are careful to observe the statutes and the rules that the Lord commanded Moses for Israel. ⁱBe strong and courageous. David’s Charge to Solomon
