1 Kings 2:3-4

3and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, athat you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn, 4that the Lord may bestablish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, cIf your sons pay close attention to their way, dto walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, eyou shall not lack
Hebrew there shall not be cut off for you
a man on the throne of Israel.’

1 Kings 3:6

6And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because ghe walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and hhave given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

1 Kings 3:14

14And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, ias your father David walked, then jI will lengthen your days.”

1 Kings 11:34

34Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.

1 Chronicles 28:8-9

8Now therefore in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.

David’s Charge to Solomon

9“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a lwhole heart and with a willing mind, mfor the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. nIf you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

2 Chronicles 17:3-5

3The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals, 4but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments, oand not according to the practices of Israel. 5Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah pbrought tribute to Jehoshaphat, qand he had great riches and honor.
