1 Kings 2:4

4that the Lord may aestablish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, bIf your sons pay close attention to their way, cto walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, dyou shall not lack
Hebrew there shall not be cut off for you
a man on the throne of Israel.’

Luke 1:32-33

32He will be great and will be called the Son of fthe Most High. And the Lord God gwill give to him the throne of hhis father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob iforever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Hebrews 7:1-3

The Priestly Order of Melchizedek

1For this jMelchizedek, king of kSalem, priest of lthe Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2and to him Abraham apportioned a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace. 3He is without father or mother mor genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever.

Hebrews 7:11-12

Jesus Compared to Melchizedek

11 nNow if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron? 12For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well.

Hebrews 7:15-17

15This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, 16who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life. 17For it is witnessed of him,

oYou are a priest forever,
after the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 7:24

24but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues pforever.

Hebrews 7:28

28For the law appoints men qin their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made rperfect forever.

1 Peter 2:5

5 syou yourselves like living stones are being built up as ta spiritual house, to be ua holy priesthood, vto offer spiritual sacrifices wacceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:9

9But you are xa chosen race, ya royal zpriesthood, aaa holy nation, aba people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you acout of darkness into adhis marvelous light.
