1 Kings 21:11-15

11And the men of his city, athe elders and the leaders who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them. As it was written in the letters that she had sent to them, 12 bthey proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people. 13And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones. 14Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, “Naboth has been stoned; he is dead.”

15As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab, “Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”

Job 29:7-17

7When I went out to cthe gate of the city,
when I prepared my seat in the square,
8the young men saw me and withdrew,
and the aged rose and stood;
9the princes refrained from talking
and dlaid their hand on their mouth;
10the voice of the nobles was hushed,
and their etongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.
11When the ear heard, it called me blessed,
and when the eye saw, it approved,
12because I fdelivered the poor who cried for help,
and the fatherless who had none to help him.
13 gThe blessing of him who was habout to perish came upon me,
and I caused ithe widow’s heart to sing for joy.
14I jput on righteousness, and it clothed me;
my justice was like a robe and ka turban.
15I was leyes to the blind
and feet to the lame.
16I was a father to the needy,
and I searched out mthe cause of him whom I did not know.
17I nbroke othe fangs of the unrighteous
and made him drop his prey from his teeth.

Job 31:34

34because I stood in great fear of pthe multitude,
and the contempt of families terrified me,
so that I kept silence, and did not go out of doors

Psalms 12:8

8On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among the children of man.

Micah 7:3

3 qTheir hands are on what is evil, to do it well;
rthe prince and sthe judge ask for a bribe,
and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul;
thus they weave it together.
