It was written gin the name of King Ahasuerus hand sealed with the king’s signet ring. 13Letters were sent iby couriers to all the king’s provinces with instruction jto destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, kin one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, land to plunder their goods.

Rulers and Prophets Denounced

and rulers of the house of Israel!
yIs it not for you to know justice?—
2you zwho hate the good and love the evil,
aawho tear the skin from off my people
Hebrew  from off them

and their flesh from off their bones,
3 acwho eat the flesh of my people,
and flay their skin from off them,
and break their bones in pieces
and chop them up like meat in a pot,
like flesh in a cauldron.
4 adThen they will cry to the Lord,
but he will not answer them;
aehe will hide his face from them at that time,
because they have made their deeds evil.

Micah 3:9-11

and make crooked all that is straight,

and Jerusalem with iniquity.

“Is not the Lord in the midst of us?
