1 Kings 22:11-13

11And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made for himself ahorns of iron and said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘With these byou shall push the Syrians until they are destroyed.’” 12And all the prophets prophesied so and said, “Go up to Ramoth-gilead and triumph; the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

Micaiah Prophesies Against Ahab

13And the messenger who went to summon Micaiah said to him, “Behold, the words of the prophets with one accord are favorable to the king. Let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.”

1 Kings 22:17

17And he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, cas sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master; let each return to his home in peace.’”

Proverbs 26:28

28A lying tongue hates its victims,
and a flattering mouth works ruin.

Jeremiah 14:13-16

Lying Prophets

13Then I said: “Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets dsay to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’” 14And the Lord said to me: “The eprophets are prophesying lies in my name. fI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, gworthless divination, and hthe deceit of their own minds. 15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although iI did not send them, and who say, jSword and famine shall not come upon this land’: kBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed. 16And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword, lwith none to bury themthem, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their evil upon them.

Jeremiah 23:14-29

14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
mthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
nthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
oall of them have become like Sodom to me,
pand its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”
15Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
qBehold, I will feed them with bitter food
rand give them spoisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, tfilling you with vain hopes. uThey speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. 17They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, v‘It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who wstubbornly follows his own heart, they say, xNo disaster shall come upon you.’”

18 For ywho among them has stood in the council of the Lord
to see and to hear his word,
or who has paid attention to his word and listened?
19 zBehold, the storm of the Lord!
Wrath has gone forth,
aaa whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
20 abThe anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has executed and acaccomplished
the intents of his heart.
adIn the latter days you will understand it clearly.
21 ae“I did not send the prophets,
yet they ran;
I did not speak to them,
yet they prophesied.
22 afBut if they had stood in my council,
then they would have proclaimed my words to my people,
agand they would have turned them from their evil way,
and ahfrom the evil of their deeds.
23 ai“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? 24 ajCan a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. akDo I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. 25I have heard what the prophets have said alwho prophesy lies in my name, saying, am‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26How long shall there be lies in the heart of anthe prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart, 27who think to make my people forget my name aoby their dreams that they tell one another, even as their apfathers forgot my name for Baal? 28 aqLet the prophet who has a dream artell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. asWhat has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. 29 atIs not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and aulike a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Lamentations 2:14

14 avYour prophets have seen for you
false and deceptive visions;
awthey have not exposed your iniquity
to axrestore your fortunes,
aybut have seen for you azoracles
that are false and misleading.

Ezekiel 13:23

23 batherefore you shall no more see false visions nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand. And you shall know that I am the Lord.”
