1 Kings 22:22-24

22And the Lord said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be aa lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’ 23Now therefore behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; the Lord has declared disaster for you.”

24Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near band struck Micaiah on the cheek and said, “How did the Spirit of the Lord go from me to speak to you?”

Jeremiah 28

Hananiah the False Prophet

1In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of cZedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, Hananiah the son of dAzzur, the prophet from eGibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying, 2Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: fI have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3 gWithin htwo years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. 4I will also bring back to this place iJeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, declares the Lord, jfor I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”

5Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah the prophet in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord, 6and the prophet Jeremiah said, kAmen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord make the words that you have prophesied come true, and bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the exiles. 7Yet hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people. 8 lThe prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms. 9 mAs for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”

10Then the prophet Hananiah took the nyoke-bars from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke them. 11And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, oThus says the Lord: pEven so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of qall the nations within two years.” But Jeremiah the prophet went his way.

12Sometime after the prophet rHananiah had broken the yoke-bars from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 13Go, tell Hananiah, ‘Thus says the Lord: You have broken wooden bars, but you have made in their place bars of iron. 14For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put upon the neck of all these nations san iron yoke to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, tand they shall serve him, ufor I have given to him even the beasts of the field.’” 15And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, vthe Lord has not sent you, wand you have made this people trust in a lie. 16Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, xbecause you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’”

17In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died.

Acts 13:8-11

8But Elymas the ymagician (for that is the meaning of his name) zopposed them, seeking to turn aathe proconsul away from the faith. 9But Saul, who was also called Paul, abfilled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10and said, “You acson of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and advillainy, will you not stop aemaking crooked afthe straight paths of the Lord? 11And now, behold, agthe hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind and unable to see the sun for a time.” Immediately mist and darkness fell upon him, and he went about seeking ahpeople to lead him by the hand.

Galatians 1:7-9

7 alnot that there is another one, but amthere are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or anan angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, aolet him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, aplet him be accursed.

Galatians 2:4-5

4 aqYet because of false brothers secretly brought inwho arslipped in to spy out asour freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, atso that they might bring us into slavery 5to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that authe truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.
