1 Kings 3:5-10

5 aAt Gibeon bthe Lord appeared to Solomon cin a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.” 6And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because dhe walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and ehave given him a son to sit on his throne this day. 7And now, O Lord my God, fyou have made your servant king in place of David my father, galthough I am but a little child. I do not know hhow to go out or come in. 8 iAnd your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, jtoo many to be numbered or counted for multitude. 9 kGive your servant therefore an understanding mind lto govern your people, that I may mdiscern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

10It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this.

Psalms 45:6-7

6 nYour throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The oscepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
7 pyou have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.
Therefore qGod, your God, has ranointed you
with the oil of sgladness tbeyond your companions;

Psalms 72:12-14

12 For he delivers uthe needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no helper.
13He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
14From oppression and violence he redeems their life,
and vprecious is their blood in his sight.

Isaiah 11:3-5

3And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.
wHe shall not judge by xwhat his eyes see,
or decide disputes by ywhat his ears hear,
4but zwith righteousness he shall judge the poor,
and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
and he shall aastrike the earth with the rod of his mouth,
and abwith the breath of his lips ache shall kill the wicked.
5Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist,
and adfaithfulness the belt of his loins.

Isaiah 32:1

A King Will Reign in Righteousness

1 Behold, aea king will reign in righteousness,
and princes will rule in justice.
