1 Kings 3:6-9

6And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because ahe walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and bhave given him a son to sit on his throne this day. 7And now, O Lord my God, cyou have made your servant king in place of David my father, dalthough I am but a little child. I do not know ehow to go out or come in. 8 fAnd your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, gtoo many to be numbered or counted for multitude. 9 hGive your servant therefore an understanding mind ito govern your people, that I may jdiscern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

Ecclesiastes 9:15-18

15But there was found in it ka poor, wise man, and he by his lwisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man. 16But I say that mwisdom is better than might, though nthe poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.

17The words of the wise heard in oquiet are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. 18 pWisdom is better than weapons of war, but qone sinner destroys much good.
