1 Kings 4:7-19

7Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for one month in the year. 8These were their names: Ben-hur, in athe hill country of Ephraim; 9Ben-deker, in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh, and Elonbeth-hanan; 10Ben-hesed, in Arubboth (to him belonged Socoh and all the land of Hepher); 11Ben-abinadab, in all bNaphath-dor (he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon as his wife); 12Baana the son of Ahilud, in cTaanach, Megiddo, and all dBeth-shean that is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, and from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as the other side of Jokmeam; 13Ben-geber, ein Ramoth-gilead (he had fthe villages of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead, and he had gthe region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars); 14Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim; 15Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he had taken Basemath the daughter of Solomon as his wife); 16Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth; 17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar; 18 hShimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin; 19Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, ithe country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan. And there was one governor who was over the land.

Military Divisions

1This is the number of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:

2 jJashobeam the son of Zabdiel was in charge of the first division in the first month; in his division were 24,000. 3He was a kdescendant of Perez and was chief of all the commanders. He served for the first month. 4 lDodai the Ahohite
Septuagint; Hebrew  Ahohite and his division and Mikloth the chief officer
was in charge of the division of the second month; in his division were 24,000.
5The third commander, for the third month, was nBenaiah, the son of Jehoiada the chief priest; in his division were 24,000. 6This is the Benaiah owho was a mighty man of the thirty and in command of the thirty; Ammizabad his son was in charge of his division.
