1 Kings 8:46-47

46“If they sin against you— afor there is no one who does not sin—and you are angry with them and give them to an enemy, so that they are carried away captive bto the land of the enemy, far off or near, 47yet cif they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captors, saying, d‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’

1 Kings 9:7

7 ethen I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, fand the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, gand Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

1 Kings 9:9

9Then they will say, ‘Because hthey abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Isaiah 59:2-13

2 ibut your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.
3 jFor your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies;
your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 kNo one enters suit justly;
no one goes to law honestly;
they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies,
lthey conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.
5They hatch adderseggs;
they weave the spider’s web;
he who eats their eggs dies,
and from one that is crushed a viper is hatched.
6 mTheir webs will not serve as clothing;
men will not cover themselves with what they make.
Their works are works of iniquity,
and deeds of violence are in their hands.
7 nTheir feet run to evil,
and they are swift to shed innocent blood;
their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity;
desolation and destruction are in their highways.
8The way of peace they do not know,
and there is no justice in their paths;
they have made their roads crooked;
ono one who treads on them knows peace.
9 Therefore justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not overtake us;
pwe hope for light, and behold, darkness,
and for brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 qWe grope for the wall like the blind;
we grope like those who have no eyes;
we stumble at noon as in the twilight,
ramong those in full vigor we are like dead men.
11We all growl like bears;
swe moan and moan like doves;
twe hope for justice, but there is none;
for salvation, but it is far from us.
12For our transgressions are multiplied before you,
and our sins testify against us;
for our transgressions are with us,
and we know our iniquities:
13transgressing, and denying the Lord,
and turning back from following our God,
uspeaking oppression and revolt,
conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words.

Jeremiah 6:28

28 vThey are all stubbornly rebellious,
wgoing about with slanders;
they are xbronze and iron;
all of them act corruptly.

Lamentations 1:5

5 yHer foes have become the head;
her zenemies prosper,
because aathe Lord has afflicted her
abfor the multitude of her transgressions;
acher children have gone away,
captives before the foe.

Lamentations 1:20

20 Look, O Lord, for I am in distress;
admy stomach churns;
my heart is wrung within me,
because I have been very rebellious.
aeIn the street the sword bereaves;
in the house it is like death.

Ezekiel 14:13-21

13 afSon of man, when a land sins against me agby acting faithlessly, and I stretch out my hand against it and ahbreak its supply
Hebrew staff
of bread and send famine upon it, and ajcut off from it man and beast,
14 akeven if these three men, alNoah, amDaniel, and anJob, were in it, aothey would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord God.

15 apIf I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, aqand it be made desolate, so that no one may pass through because of the beasts, 16even if these three men were in it, aras I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered, but asthe land would be desolate.

17Or atif I bring a sword upon that land and say, Let a sword pass through the land, auand I cut off from it man and beast, 18 avthough these three men were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

19Or awif I send a pestilence into that land and pour out my wrath upon it with blood, to cut off from it man and beast, 20even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter. They would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness.

21For thus says the Lord God: How much more axwhen I send upon Jerusalem my four disastrous acts of judgment, aysword, azfamine, bawild beasts, and bbpestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!
