1 Kings 9:7-8

7 ^athen I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, ^band the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, ^cand Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8 And this house will become a heap of ruins. ^{▼▼Syriac, Old Latin; Hebrew will become high} Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ^e‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

2 Chronicles 7:20-21

20 ^fthen I will pluck you ^{▼▼Hebrew them; twice in this verse} up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it ^ha proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21 And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, ⁱ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

Jeremiah 26:18

18 “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and said to all the people of Judah: ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts,

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem
