1 Kings 9:7-8

7 athen I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, band the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, cand Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 8And this house will become a heap of ruins.

Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, eWhy has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’

Jeremiah 18:16

16making their land fa horror,
a thing gto be hissed at forever.

12I will take the remnant of Judah who have adset their faces to come to the land of Egypt to live, and they shall all be consumed. aeIn the land of Egypt they shall fall; by the sword and by famine afthey shall be consumed. agFrom the least to the greatest, they shall die by the sword and by famine, ahand they shall become an oath, a horror, aia curse, and a taunt.

Lamentations 2:15-16

clap their hands at you;

at the daughter of Jerusalem:
“Is this the city that was called

althe joy of all the earth?”
16 amAll your enemies
rail against you;
they hiss, they gnash their teeth,
they cry: “We anhave swallowed her!
Ah, this is the day we longed for;
