Do Not Love the World

15 nDo not love the world or the things in the world. oIf anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the worldpthe desires of the flesh and qthe desires of the eyes and pride of life
Or  pride in possessions
is not from the Father but is from the world.
17And sthe world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 3:13

13Do not be surprised, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 14, 16

1 John 4:4-5

4Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for vhe who is in you is greater than whe who is in the world. 5 xThey are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and ythe world listens to them.

1 John 5:19

19We know that we are from God, and zthe whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
