1 Samuel 1:4-8

4On the day when Elkanah sacrificed, ahe would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters. 5But to Hannah he gave a double portion, because he loved her, though the Lord had closed her womb.
Syriac; the meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain. Septuagint And, although he loved Hannah, he would give Hannah only one portion, because the Lord had closed her womb
6And her rival used to provoke her grievously to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb. 7So it went on year by year. As often as she went up to the house of the Lord, she used to provoke her. Therefore Hannah wept and would not eat. 8And Elkanah, her husband, said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? And why do you not eat? And why is your heart sad? cAm I not more to you than ten sons?”

1 Corinthians 7:3

3 dThe husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband.

Ephesians 5:25-33

25 eHusbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and fgave himself up for her, 26that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by gthe washing of water hwith the word, 27so ithat he might present the church to himself in splendor, jwithout spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Or holy and blameless
28In the same way lhusbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30because mwe are members of his body. 31 nTherefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and othe two shall become one flesh.” 32This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. 33However, plet each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she qrespects her husband.

Colossians 3:19

19Husbands, love your wives, and rdo not be harsh with them.

1 Peter 3:7

7Likewise, shusbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker tvessel, since they are heirs with you

of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
