1 Samuel 1:9

9After they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh, Hannah rose. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat beside the doorpost of athe temple of the Lord.

1 Samuel 2:12-17

Eli’s Worthless Sons

12Now the sons of Eli were bworthless men. cThey did not know the Lord. 13The custom of the priests with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant would come, while the meat was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand, 14and he would thrust it into the pan or kettle or cauldron or pot. All that the fork brought up the priest would take for himself. This is what they did at Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there. 15Moreover, dbefore the fat was burned, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, “Give meat for the priest to roast, for he will not accept boiled meat from you but only raw.” 16And if the man said to him, “Let them burn the fat first, and then take as much as you wish,” he would say, “No, you must give it now, and if not, I will take it by force.” 17Thus the sin of the young men was very great ein the sight of the Lord, ffor the men treated the offering of the Lord with contempt.

1 Samuel 2:34

34 gAnd this that shall come upon your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, shall be the sign to you: both of them shall die hon the same day.

1 Samuel 3:13

13 iAnd I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, jbecause his sons were blaspheming God,
Or  blaspheming for themselves
land he did not restrain them.

1 Samuel 4:4

4So the people sent to Shiloh and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, mwho is enthroned on the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

1 Samuel 4:11

11 nAnd the ark of God was captured, oand the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

1 Samuel 4:17-18

17He who brought the news answered and said, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has also been a great defeat among the people. Your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured.” 18As soon as he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell over backward pfrom his seat by the side of the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for the man was old and heavy. He had judged Israel forty years.
